What I actually read this month was…
Considering the craziness of this month, what with moving and traveling and still living and working in two different towns, I read quite a bit. But I had very little access to internet, so I’m far from caught up with reviews. I have at least a dozen items on my “TBReviewed” list!
Fiction
- A Farewell to Arms by Ernest Hemingway
I finally called it quits on this after 3/4 or so. I just couldn’t get interested in the story. - Love’s Abiding Joy by Janette Oke
- Love’s Unending Legacy by Janette Oke
- Love’s Unfolding Dream by Janette Oke
- Love Takes Wing by Janette Oke
- Love Finds a Home by Janette Oke
Nonfiction
- The Checklist Manifesto by Atul Gawande (TBReviewed)
- Nasty, Brutish, and Long: Adventures in Eldercare by Ira Rosofsky (My Review)
- Nina Garcia’s Look Book by Nina Garcia (TBReviewed)
- Radical by David Platt (TBReviewed)
- Will This Place Ever Feel Like Home? by Leslie Levine (TBReviewed)
Juvenile
- Children’s Picture Books author BANG-BANKS (partly)
including BANG The Grey Lady and the Strawberry Snatcher - The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Prisoner’s Dilemma by Trenton Lee Stewart (My Review)
- Nebraska a “Celebrate the States” book by Ruth Bjorklund (TBReviewed)
- The Old Motel Mystery created by Gertrude Chandler Warner
This month’s nightstand is a bit different since I’m in the middle of moving and I haven’t got a nightstand (or any other place for my library books)–and because I’m trying to finish up these library books so I can start anew in my new city.
Currently in the middle of… or going to start soon (?)

- Ask Me Anything a Dorling-Kindersley book
- Boiling Mad: Inside Tea Party America by Kate Zernike
- Business Casual made Easy
- Desiring God by John Piper
- Dug Down Deep by Joshua Harris
- The Kingdom of God is Within You by Leo Tolstoy
- Making the Big Move by Cathy Goodwin
- Nebraska an “America the Beautiful” book by Ann Heinrichs

I’ve heard Dug Down Deep is really good.
Happy Reading!
Very impressive — as usual!
Good luck with your move. Does this mean you’ll be 100% in one place?
I’m looking forward to your review of Radical!
I loved the Mysterious Benedict Society books!!
Good luck with your move!

it is always interesting to see what you are up to! How do you decide what books you will be checking out? I too enjoy reading children’s books. I still read to my 12 and 14 year old children mostly so I have an excuse to check out these books that I (in my carefree day) never took the time to investigate. Thanks for sharing!
Wow! What a diverse list; you can learn a lot about a person by seeing what they read :).
Yup, that’s a lot of reading for all that you have going on in your life.
Fingers tapping as I’m wondering when that Dug, Down Deep book is going to land in the “I completely read it” pile. =D I’ll keep watching in anticipation!
Good luck with your move, that’s never fun. You do have quite the unusual list of books there!

You did get a lot of reading done in between all your other life busy-ness. I couldn’t make it through Farewell to Arms either. Just too many reasons NOT to keep reading it. I’ll be interested to hear what you thought of The Checklist Manifesto. I don’t know why it intrigued me like it did, but it did. A great list here!
You did great last month – and you’ve got a pile “off” the nightstand! I really enjoyed The Mysterious Benedict Society but I haven’t read any of the sequels yet. (I’ll go see your review.)
Happy reading! And good luck with the move!
Happy reading! Looks like an interesting reading list. I’m impressed you were able to read so much last month!
